Originally the set was named “Siang Rouge” but since the Austrian Emperor Francis Joseph commissioned Herend for 120 settings for the Hungarian castle in Gödöllö belonging to emperess Sissy the set was named according to the palace. For Lobmeyr this important service is painted on the original forms with handles shaped as lizards and fish scale relief on the reverse side of the plates and cans. The extravagant painting in front of a brickred ground shows bamboo trees and peonies in blue, green and gold. It is one of Herends most traditional decors.
