Baroque opulence: Take your morning coffee with this exquisite coffee pot "Opus" with a goldrim from the Augarten Porcelain Manufactory, designed by Michael Powolny. The pot is a perfectly realized piece of porcelain.
A piece of art deco: The Powolny “Opus-Set” reflects the modern, timeless design of the 1920s. Like Josef Hoffmann, Ena Rottenberg and Vally Wieselthier, Powolny was one of the earliest artistic employees of Augarten.
The “Opus” shape was designed by Prof. Michael Powolny, co-founder of the “Wiener Werkstätte” and the pioneer of modern Austrian ceramics, in circa 1928/1929 for the Vienna Porcelain Manufactory Augarten. The smooth geometric forms, made up of multiple grooves and edges giving rise to interesting light effects, are simply striking.
Michael Powolny reduced the components of his service to their constructive and functional form in the “Neue Sachlichkeit” (new objectivity) style and as a result created a service that is truly timeless.
