Coming from a family of scientists (her father is a Doctor in Pharmacy and researcher), it was only natural that Terry de Gunzburg should begin studying medicine. However, she soon abandoned these studies for the world of art and creation. It was during a summer session at the prestigious beauty school of the Carita sisters that Terry's life took a new turn. She went on to spend ten years with Maria and Rosy Carita. Following a last-minute cancellation, Maria Carita asked Terry to do the make-up on a model for a photo session with Vogue. From that moment on, she imposed her own, distinctive style – and it remains her style today: imperceptible foundation, impeccable lips, and thick, separated lashes. Terry became a "Studio Makeup Artist” and soon built a relationship of trust, friendship, and a real rapport with the greatest photographers of the time, including Helmut Newton, Bettina Rheims and Guy Bourdin.
In 1998, after having assisted in developing the Yves Saint Lauren's prominent colour range, Terry de Gunzburg decided to open her own laboratory. She concentrates on expressing rather than hiding a woman’s true natural beauty. She believes that a woman's essentials lie in excellent moisturisers and fresh natural-looking make up.
Terry de Gunzburg worked for Yves Saint Laurent for 15 years, beginning as a makeup artist, however soon went onto become the International Creative Director and responsible for their Marketing. Through these years of observing women’s hopes and desires, Terry was able to take her acquire knowledge and apply it into her own personal brand.
